The Fu Man series of hand painted carpets is a playful innovation on the traditional wool carpet that allows for some daring and strategic use of color and design in a room space. Originally, a number of “atmospheric” dragon designs were created for a theatre production in Shanghai where the director required a stronger, more visual play of colors than wool carpets allowed. We have since expanded the line to include some playful designs for children that include a view of a carp pond and pebbles on a beach.
The paints were chosen to provide a water-proof and dirt-proof surface which is wipe-able, providing a worry-free, non-allergenic surface for children and pets to play on. The construction is a robust canvas. Cork surfaces (allowing for tighter hemlines) are also currently under development.
The paint colors can be customized to match your décor and custom designs can also be created. Griffin & Wong has long been customizing your walls and now is able to customize your floors!
