Last week, wrapped up a busy week at the annual New York Fashion Show, and we were over-the-top thrilled to be asked to work with famous footwear designer Paul Andrew, for the presentation of his Spring 2016 fashion line. Paul had modelled his colors and designs for this collection on a stylish 60-70’s Hong Kong aesthetic, drawn from Wong Kar-Wai’s award winning film “In The Mood for Love”.
Our Chinoiserie papers hit this trend in design spot-on, and in particular, work a sultry and lush effect with this black and electric blue backdrop. Paul Andrew’s work plays with a similar East-West design friction for this runway collection, and in a few short years he has built his name and emerging brand into a global powerhouse. We wish him the best of success as he builds out his career. Paul also presented a $13,000 pair of pumps (made from crocodile and 22 karat gold) , and flanked this presentation with a set of our gold leaf Tara Magnolia panels.
More and more, the intersection of art and fashion is occurring, and we hope to continue to make a few waves ourselves, as we introduce new designs at the world’s premiere fashion event. Thank you to all the fashion and shelter magazine executives that dropped by, and hopefully we will have a chance to collaborate again with Paul Andrew next year.
